Early Foundations
Martial arts entered my life early and became part of how I understood discipline, skill, awareness, movement, and personal development.
The Story Behind BMMA
Brave Movement & Martial Arts Club is an extension of a lifelong practice across martial arts, movement arts, Hip-Hop culture, education, mentorship, creativity, leadership, and community.
Founder + Lead Instructor
Artist. B-boy. Martial artist. Educator. Coach. Host. Husband. Father.
My movement practice has never lived inside one box. Dance, martial arts, culture, creativity, teaching, leadership, and community have all shaped how I understand movement and how I share it with others.
BMMA grew from that intersection. It is a place where practical martial arts, creative movement, mentorship, culture, personal growth, and community can exist together.
The Journey
BMMA did not begin as a marketing idea. It emerged from decades of movement practice, teaching, artistic development, martial arts, performance, mentorship, and community work.
Martial arts entered my life early and became part of how I understood discipline, skill, awareness, movement, and personal development.
Breaking, freestyle, Hip-Hop culture, music, rhythm, clubs, cyphers, community, and creative practice expanded movement beyond technique.
Teaching turned the practice outward: helping others find confidence, skill, voice, discipline, creativity, and ownership.
Jeet Kune Do, Wing Chun, Boxing, Kickboxing, Kali/Eskrima, concepts, sensitivity, timing, and practical application expanded the practice.
The work increasingly became about creating environments where people could train, learn, connect, and grow together.
Brave Movement & Martial Arts Club became the container where these different streams could finally live together as one practice.
The Philosophy
Martial arts and movement arts are not separate worlds to me. They are different expressions of awareness, timing, rhythm, structure, adaptability, creativity, and human development.
Rather than forcing people into rigid boxes, the goal is to give them useful tools, principles, and experiences that help them grow into a fuller version of themselves.
The Four Pillars
These pillars shape how BMMA trains, teaches, mentors, builds programs, and develops community.
Skill, awareness, timing, structure, distance, self-protection, discipline, adaptability, and practice.
Rhythm, coordination, creativity, flow, athleticism, body awareness, expression, and exploration.
Confidence, accountability, character, communication, responsibility, mentorship, and personal ownership.
Relationships, culture, support, participation, shared practice, connection, contribution, and collective growth.
“I don’t think in the form of moves, I exist in the form of movement.”
— BRAVEMONK
What We Stand For
BMMA is built around a training culture that expects effort without demanding perfection.
Take the work seriously, remain curious, and continue refining the practice.
Different people, bodies, experiences, goals, and ways of learning should have room to develop.
Respect the training, the people around you, the lineage of the arts, and your own process.
Training should increasingly give people greater confidence, agency, awareness, ownership, and possibility.
